Hridayavabodhini 2018 held at SDM College of Ayurveda

The process of learning in Vedic period was mainly in the form of hearing – memorizing- using. In the later days, they were documented in texts in the form of Sutras. They are concise, unambiguous, meaningful, easy to remember and properly applied. Ayurveda texts mainly contain the concepts in the form of sutras. Learning the sutra is the first step towards learning the Ayurveda. With this concept SDM College of Ayurveda, Daksha – SDM men’s club organized Hridayavabodhini Shloka recitation competition at SDM College of Ayurveda Udupi. More than 650 students from 10 different Ayurveda colleges across Karnataka had registered for the first round.

The competition was held at three different levels at various venues and final was held at SDM College of Ayurveda Udupi on 25/01/2018. Mr Sandeep S Achar of SDM College of Ayurveda Udupi bagged first place and Miss. Sharada M K of SDM Institute of Ayurveda Bengaluru bagged second place. Valedictory program was presided by Dr Shreekanth U Principal SDMCA Udupi and said these type competitions help the students in learning the Ayurveda and improves the knowledge. Judges of the program Dr Satyanarayana Bhat Principal Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences Manipal, Dr Ragavendra Udupa, Professor Dept of Dravyaguna Alvas Ayurveda Medical College Moodabidri, Dr Uday Kumar, Sanskrit Scholar Udupi, Dr.Muralidhar Sharma Medical Superintendent SDM College of Ayurveda Udupi, Dr.Niranjan Rao Professor Dept of Panchakarma SDM College of Ayurveda Udupi, program coordinator Dr.Shrinidhi Dhanya and Dr Archana Himalaya Drug Company were present on the stage.

Dr Ravikrishna S welcomed the gathering, Dr Ravi K V presented the program report, Dr Yogeesh Acharya presented vote of thanks, Dr Arunkumar was master of ceremony. Daksha Team members Dr Sandesh Kumar Shetty and Dr Shrinidhi Ballal were also present in the programme.
